It is a great place for someone who wants to be in an environment where everyone wants to learn. The faculty are very respectful of the students. The school has great leadership and they really walk the talk. They teach great lessons in social responsibility and respect for each other.
A segregated school for the rich is not good for America. You just reinforce a society of the haves and have nots. How do these children learn from the diversity of a public school? How do you teach them to care about the problems of the poor, the disabled and the mentally ill?
The school has been a fantastic place for my daughter. I have attended a boarding school and lived at boarding schools as the wife of a teacher. My older daughter attended a different boarding school as well.
I hear the child care is good and we were going to send our 1 year old here but they dropped us without notice! We had been signed up early in the calendar year and were"guaranteed" a spot for several months when we were dropped. We had already told our number 2 child care location we were not going to need our spot with them and when obtaining information from St. Andrews on a phone call about 2 months before our child was supposed to start, they told us we no longer had a spot!!! They said while they had told us we had a spot and were ready to start up in the fall season that more teachers at St. Andrews School had children over the summer than they anticipated so they had to drop us. Teachers get the priority. They never told us it was a possibility that this situation could arise and that we could be bumped. If we hadn't called to check in a couple of months before the school year started, I am not sure when the would have let use know!!! BE VERY CAREFUL you don't get stuck like we did! To add insult to injury, the child care manager was unprofessional and unapologetic about the situation.
I just have questions about the school, I've never actually been. I'm thinking i may want to go. I'm not too sure though because I've never been to a boarding school. If you have ever been to this school and you're reading this please answer these questions i have!!!
An excellent high school...students are first!!
